Retail Business offers a learning experience that focuses learning for 14-16 year olds through applied learning, i.e. acquiring and applying knowledge, skills and understanding through purposeful tasks set in the retail sector or subject contexts that have many of the characteristics of real work.
As business teachers we are giving students the opportunity to develop business knowledge and enterprise skills. We will broaden their experience and understanding of business and the world around them through external speakers from the local community. Pupils will develop key skills which can then be transferred into all progression opportunities.
The successful completion of this qualification, together with other equivalent qualifications, could provide the learner with opportunities to access a range of Level 3 qualifications including GCE, apprenticeships, employment and training and vocationally related qualifications.
