Pupil Premium

What is the Pupil Premium?

The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools to support disadvantaged pupils. Ecclesfield School receives additional funding for Looked-After Children, children who have been adopted from Care, children from Service Families and for every pupil who has received a free school meal over the past 6 years.

If you are not sure whether your child is eligible for free school meals, please click here, where you will also find an application form.

How Pupil Premium Funding supports pupils at Ecclesfield School

If your child is eligible for free school meals, the school also receives ‘Pupil Premium’ funding. This funding helps us to secure the best possible outcomes for pupils through providing high quality teaching and learning. We have based our spending priorities on research, such as the EEF Teaching and Learning Toolkit, which provides guidance for schools on how to use their resources to improve the attainment of disadvantaged pupils.

How Can Pupil Premium Funding be Spent?

At Ecclesfield School we have identified three key strands which are advised by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) as best-practice for schools in closing gaps for disadvantaged learners. At Ecclesfield, we recognise that in raising the achievement of disadvantaged students and promoting their wider personal development, we will also raise achievement and wider personal development of all students.

This is how our Pupil Premium allocation will be spent:
1. Teaching
2. Targeted Academic Intervention
3. Wider Strategies
