On the day of placement, we will email our Welcome Booklet to all Year 6 students. This booklet is intended to provide answers to any questions and to help establish communication between families and Ecclesfield School as your child makes the transition from primary to secondary school.

As part of our commitment to ensuring a seamless transition from Year 6 to Year 7 our school utilises a web-based program called Admissions+ by Applicaa. Admissions+ streamlines the enrolment process by allowing us to import student records in advance and seamlessly integrate our new students. By using this system, we can efficiently and securely collect essential student data, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
What to Expect:
If you have not received an email from Admissions+ by Applicaa on behalf of transition@ecclesfield-mlt.co.uk please contact the school office. Please be mindful that sometimes email can end up in junk and spam folders, the email will be titled "Welcome to Ecclesfield Secondary School - Data Collection" .

Footwear: Students must wear all-black, polishable shoes made of leather or leather-look material with no or discreet branding visible. Suitable examples include Nike Air Force One-style shoes or similar court-style footwear from other brands. Trainers that do not meet this description are not permitted. - more
Ear-rings: Only ear piercings are allowed. These must be studs only. No facial piercings are permitted, including clear or discreet ones.
Make-up: Make-up should be worn discreetly and should be natural looking and flesh-toned. Any students wearing excessive make-up will be asked to remove it. Nails should be natural and neutral coloured and of a reasonable length. Students should not wear false eyelashes.
Hair: Hair should not be dyed in unnatural colours. Students wishing to tie their hair back should use plain, undecorated accessories to do so.
Nails: Nails should be neutral in colour and short in length (no longer than the finger tip).
Undergarments: Students should wear plain, white undergarments beneath their shirts.
Other: Belts must be plain black. No headgear is permitted at all (except for religious reasons)
Trousers: Trousers should be loose fitting and black. There should be no rivets or zips. The material should not be stretchy or denim. Please note that uniform sections of shops sell trousers that do not meet our requirements, so please check carefully before purchasing.
Skirts: Skirts should be purchased from the uniform provider. Skirts should be black, straight and loose fitting. Stretchy material or pencil skirts are not allowed. Skirts should be knee length.
Piercings: Students are permitted to wear one pair of studs in their ears. Hoops etc are not permitted due to health and safety risks in a busy school.
All other piercings e.g. nose piercings, tongue piercings are not allowed under any circumstances.
Compulsory branded items: Red/Black PE T-shirt with school logo
Compulsory non-branded items: Black PE shorts OR long black, sports leg wear (tracksuit bottoms/ running leggings/ gym pants). These do not need to be branded but we advise that these be purchased from a sports retailer. Students cannot wear fashion leggings. We also advise a base layer beneath their school PE shirt in the event of cold weather. This should be black, white or red. Those students scheduled to do outdoor sports may still be expected to go outdoors during poor weather.
Non-Compulsory branded items: Black school PE sweatshirt with school logo. Black rain jacket with logo.
Supportive sports shoes: You should not wear pumps, plimsolls or pull on shoes i.e. no laces. These are inappropriate for secondary school students and may well lead to damaging your feet, ankles and knees. For outdoor sports, red football socks are recommended. Football boots may be worn but are not compulsory.
Optional safety wear: students may wear a mouth guard where parents fell that this is appropriate. Shin pads can be worn for certain sports.

All students are expected to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for all practical lessons.

Uniform and Biometrics - Thursday 14th May 2026
We invite all our Year 6 students and parents to attend our Uniform and Biometric Event on Thursday 14th May 2026 where our official uniform supplier, Imperial Sports, will be on site to help you size up your students, try on items, purchase or pre-order all your school uniform ready for September. The school catering team will be available during the evening to take biometrics from students whom we have received consent to ensure that our students accounts are ready and live for September.
Induction Day - Wednesday 1st July & Thursday 2nd July 2026
All children will attend both days. Students are expected to arrive in their primary school uniform. This will be a chance for students to meet their new classmates, tutor, pastoral staff and other key staff. During these days, students will be able to take part in lessons, enjoy a tour of their new school and experience a delicious school lunch in our canteen. They will spend a significant amount of time with their tutor and future classmates and they will have the chance to have any of their questions answered. We hope the day will give students an idea of what to expect in September and allay any worries.

Uniform Collection Day and Summer Sales -Thursday 20th August or Friday 21st August 2026
Our uniform supplier Imperial Sports will be on site during the summer holidays for Parents/Carers be able to collect any online orders that have been arranged for school delivery. Items will be available for purchase from the school gym. Cash and cards payments will be accepted. Please check on our social media for further information.
